As soon as the soil is warm enough, broad beans can be sown in a double row. ( The best way to know if the soil is warm enough, is if the weeds have started to grow.)
Plant in a hole about 5cm (2inches) deep, with the black scar facing downwards. The two rows should be 20cm (8 inches) apart and the seeds also 20cm apart. Cover the seeds and tamp the soil down for the seeds to make contact with the soil.
You will need some string and posts to support the beans as they grow.
