The Society has use of an area of allotments at Ardardan thanks to the generosity of Grant and May Montgomery.
Being a member of Helensburgh & Gareloch Horticutural Society qualifies an individual to rent an allotment if there is one available.
Ardardan holds two Open Days during the summer: Open Farms Day and the Annual Vintage Tractor Show, when the allotments are open to the public and visitors who are welcome to take a look around.
The Helensburgh and Gareloch Horticultural Society manages a number of allotment plots at Ardardan Farm, between Helensburgh and Cardross.
Do you have green fingers and looking for more space to grow vegetables and flowers? If so, an allotment may be for you! The allotments are only available to members of the Society and there is a waiting list. For more information or to express an interest, please contact us.
The following are some photos of the allotments over the last couple of years.
In 2016 Mrs Kathleen Murray donated a silver trophy in memory of her husband Robin Murray (The Robin Murray Memorial Trophy), to be awarded to the holder of the best tended allotment each year.
This was presented at the Annual Flower and Vegetable Show in August 2016.
