A lively, interesting and light hearted talk from Louise Bustard with her own special brand of humour, set the mood beautifully for our Christmas Meeting on 13th December.
Louise's talk was an" Introduction to Houseplants", tracking their journey through the ages from Roman times to the present day showing a huge number of examples to suit all tastes, situations and horticultural experience. We were also reassured that we should not be too concerned about our own failures when a horticulturist of Louise's experience can admit to killing off plants within a few days of them coming into her care!
Birds of paradise, poinsettia and various other "tricky” plants were still under discussion long into the evening as we enjoyed the wonderful buffet afterwards.
