The Tattie Challenge 2022 took place at the allotments at Ardardan on Saturday 13 August and was a huge success. The weather was kind though a little chilly in the morning. The breakdown of entrants was:
19 members
4 non-members
12 Juniors
4 lodges of Beavers
1 Beaver Leaders
The total of potatoes produced was 122lbs which in old money is approximately one hundred weight or approximately 55kg. This is amazing and shows what can be produced in sacks.

The winner was member Pauline Gray with 5lb 13oz and she will be awarded the Grace McGeorge trophy. This trophy was donated by the Craigend Nurseries at Cardross
There was a joint winner of the 12 or under section, both sisters, Susannah and Lottie Howat each with a weight of 4lb 8.5 oz which was more than most of the adult entries….Well Done. Susannah and Lottie will each be awarded a certificate recording their achievement.
I would like to thank all the helpers without whom this event could not have taken place. I believe a good time was had by all.
